Where your money goes

Woza Moya Project, an HIV/AIDS Community Care and Support program is a non-profit organization (NPO No: 017966) in South Africa.

Founding Members of Woza Moya (2000 - 2010)
From Left to Right: Benedicta Memela, Sue Hedden, Jane Nxasane

A couple of years ago four Charlotte women who wanted to help AIDS orphans in South Africa formed Ubuntu Charlotte, whose mission is to energize, inspire and support action to help AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Southern Africa.

Ubuntu Charlotte did not apply for non-profit status as there were two organizations in the US that were able to act as conduits for funds to Woza Moya in South Africa, and forming yet another non-profit organization would have taken money from donations better used to support AIDS orphans.

Ubuntu Charlotte originally channeled funds through South Africa Development Fund (www.sadevelopmentfund.org), but they have recently advised us that due to the economy they have had to downsize their organization and can no longer assist in this regard.

We now use 501(c)(3) non-profit organization All Together Now International (ATNI) which is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, USA.

ATNI is a volunteer organization and their only costs are mailings, postage and annual auditing expenses. Their office space is also donated so 100% of all donations made to them for Woza Moya Project actually go to Woza Moya.

ATNI promote innovative, locally sustainable programs that:
• Provide housing and education to destitute or orphaned children,
• Deliver requisite health services to impoverished women, promoting their health and enabling them to provide greater care and support to their families, and
• Create economic self-sufficiency for impoverished women through learn to earn programs that give them the necessary knowledge and skills to manage their own small businesses.
• Support and implement effective educational and training programs that address and alleviate HIV/AIDS suffering.
